The Pyrates Way Wenches of the Quarter
Think you're hot enough to be one of our Wenches of the Quarter (WoQ) or even a cover wench? We do! Our focus on Wenches of the Quarter is not just beauty, legs and cleavage (although that helps, mind ye), but a bit of "the girl next door" kind of look. We're not looking for professionally or photoshopped perfect women as wenches, we're looking for the wench that any pirate might find at any pirate festival.
There are a few other things to keep in mind.
• Have some sort of pirate or nautical device with you, be it a blunderbuss or a ship's wheel
• Have a nautical or beach background. . . or even down at the local docks
• WoQ photos are always vertical photos, cover wenches are always horizontal in format
• If you've been a WoQ before, please don't submit another photo as we will not use it, instead, get a horizontal shot in order to become a cover wench, remember to leave lots of room on either side of you in the background so we can edit the shot for the cover. We have to add features and article titles to it as well as the magazine's logo, take a look at our previous covers to understand what we need.
Once you've got all that, verify with the photographer that it's OK for you to do whatever you want with the photo, or better still, have him sign a release, giving you full rights to the image. We always recognize the photographer in the magazine's "Thank Ye" page, so make sure he does not "watermark" the image with his signature or company logo.
To sumbit it to us, just send it in an email to: email@example.com. The image must be at least 150 dpi, 8" wide by 10" tall (1200 x 1500 px), and RGB for us to use it. We prefer a .jpg file.
